Less than three months since his election as Member of Parliament for Basildon and Billericay, Richard has completed his first constituency wide surgery tour, hosting drop-in surgeries for residents at venues the entire length of the parliamentary constituency.
With Parliament in recess, Richard took the opportunity to hold drop-in surgeries at community centres and village halls across Basildon, Billericay and the surrounding villages. He also visited businesses, schools and community groups, delivering on his promise to make himself available to residents.
Richard said:
“The more people across Basildon and Billericay I can meet, the more conversations I can have, the better I can represent residents. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting out and around the constituency the last few days and I’m planning further such constituency-wide tours in the months ahead. Residents can of course contact me at any time to arrange formal meetings and my high street office will be opening next month.”
During his four-day autumn surgery tour, Richard held drop-in surgeries at the Pastors Community Hub and the Chantry Centre in Billericay, Noak Bridge Village Hall, Ramsden Bellhouse Village Hall, Elms Nursery and Garden Centre in Crays Hill, King Edward Community Centre in Laindon, Fryerns Community Centre and Tasty Buds Café in Basildon.
He also made visits to the Billericay Bowling Club, Mayflower High School, the Happy Hub in Eastgate Shopping Centre, Waitrose in Billericay, Levere Home, Brentwood Catholic Children's Society, Amazon’s Delivery Station, and Basildon Hospital’s Mental Health Urgent Care Department.
