Richard met with the young peoples’ charity Bar ‘n’ Bus to hear more about their important work.
"I was able to spend some time last week with Basildon based young peoples’ charity Bar ‘n’ Bus at their office in Honeypot Lane. The charity’s mission is to engage young people in the location of their choosing, working alongside local churches, schools, councils and groups to provide professional, community-based youth work. As well as the street-based initiatives they run, they are currently mentoring around 45 pupils across 5 schools and run targeted programs to reduce exclusion from school.

They do inspiring work and it was great to chat to Jamie and also Armand, one of the charity’s outreach youth workers, to understand fully the work the charity is undertaking in the area, especially their local scheme in Laindon. I look forward to doing a visit to one of their projects and meeting some of the young people they help in the near future."
