Richard Holden MP was very proud to attend Armed Forces Day in Basildon Town Centre. After the event he said:
“It was a real honour to join Councillors Andrew Baggott, Alex Myers, Terri Sargent and Cllr Martyn Mordecai - alongside candidate and former MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock, Stephen Metcalfe, to watch the veterans and cadets parade in Basildon town centre today.
“I’m so proud to be part of a Government who have really recognised the importance of veterans and given the veterans minister a seat at the cabinet table. We’ve got more to do but from the veterans railcard to the work on post-service employment, the changes we’ve made have been significant with Johnny Mercer at the helm.”
