Richard visited Mayflower High School in Billericay on Thursday 19th September, touring the school and taking questions from pupils.
Following an invitation from the headteacher Damian Lee, Richard saw the facilities at the mixed school for students aged 11-19 and took questions from pupils across Years 7 to 11.
Headteacher Damian Lee said:
“It was lovely of Richard to give up his time to visit us at Mayflower to see the great improvements taking place. The students who met with him asked him some challenging questions and benefited from his expertise.”
Richard said:
“I want to thank Mayflower High School for the kind invitation to visit the school and to speak to some of the pupils – they asked well informed and probing questions! I want to commend Mr Lee for leading from the front to ensure the best education possible for all those who attend. It was particularly great to briefly pop into many classes and see the focus on the development of the young people’s self-belief that Mr Lee is bringing, as well as the desire to improve provision. I wish Mr Lee and his team the best and I look forward to visiting again soon!”
