Richard visited Basildon Foodbank to meet with the team of volunteers who run the centre.
"My thanks to Pastor Victor at Basildon Foodbank for inviting me to visit the centre in The Gore in Basildon. I don’t want anyone to have to rely on a food bank, but I’m incredibly grateful to Pastor Victor and his amazing team of volunteers for the work they do providing support to members of our community.
"Business and organisations across Basildon and Billericay have been supporting the food bank, but they are always seeking further donations. I’m obviously very worried about what the new Government’s axing of winter fuel payments will mean for elderly residents this winter too.
