Richard formally opened DHL's new Express Service Centre in Basildon.
"It was a privilege to formally open DHL’s new Express Service Centre on Crompton Close in Basildon. With dozens of staff at the site and delivering currently, they handle thousands of items a day and are busy preparing for the Christmas rush!
"My thanks to the DHL team for the invitation and the very useful briefing about their operations and sustainability ambitions. In my previous role as a transport minister, I visited DHL sites across the country. It’s great to see the impressive facilities in place here – another great example of local investment in jobs in Basildon and Billericay."
