Richard visited the team at Mayflower Community Hospital in Billericay.
"Last week I visited Mayflower Community Hospital, meeting with the team running the prosthetic and wheelchair services. Run by the North East London NHS Foundation Trust, I was pleased to meet with NELFT’s CEO Paul Calaminus and Senior Manager Sue Patterson to tour the facilities and meet some of the users benefiting from the services.
Serving people across North East London and South Essex, it was amazing to meet the team who are supporting residents with both physical and mental care. Their work is inspiring and not just at the hospital itself, but also helping people to live in their homes with specialist equipment. My thanks to the whole team and to those service users I had the privilege to meet during my visit.
It really is a centre of excellence with thousands of local wheelchair patients and prostethic patients from the region too. A huge thanks to all for not just the outpatient work they do but the care they show as well."
