Short Story Competition won by the talented Evie-May of St. Patrick's Primary School Consett who wrote ]about the secret life of her dog, Honey!
"With loads of short stories to choose from it's never easy picking a winner! This year, the competition was 'A short story of up to 300 words told through the eyes of a pet or animal'. Evie-May told hers through the eyes of her dog Honey and in the video below you can see her reading a short extract.
"I popped in to see Evie-May, with her certificate and prize of a House of Commons teddy bear for her brilliantly creative story. Her parents, teachers, and classmates were very proud of her. After receiving the award, Evie-May was visibly shocked but very happy. It is a sweet story and Evie-May may certainly be a name we see in the future on the front of her first book.
"John, Evie-May’s dad said: “She spends a lot of time being creative and comes up with some cracking stories. I bought her all the old Disney films, and she loved the ones with animals in. I am very proud”
"Thanks also to all the other submissions – they were all brilliant! Oh, and keep an eye out for details on my Christmas Card competition coming soon!"
