Richard recently visited Unbar Rothon, a small business operating in the constituency.
Speaking after the visit, Richard said:
"In 1948, a company focused on serving the food industry setup its operation in Billericay. 70 years later and Unbar Rothon is still going from strength to strength, and I had the opportunity to drop-in recently to meet the team based off Radford Way and to meet the latest generation running this local family business that always puts back into the community.
Delivering ingredients to customers across Essex, the South East, and London – and also to customers around the world – it was great to find out more about their history and recent successes. I will do all I can to bang the drum for amazing businesses operating across our area.
I know that the new jobs tax the Government have imposed on businesses, and changes to Business Property Relief for those investing for the long term in family business, have been a real kick in the teeth and I’ll fight them every step of the way for you in Parliament.
More broadly, I can believe it’s already been over 7 months since I was elected as MP for Basildon and Billericay, and I’ve been honoured to visit some incredible businesses – large and small – and I want to take up as many opportunities to engage with business across the constituency. Please reach out if you would like me to visit via www.richardholden.org.uk/contact."
