Richard recently met with campaigners fighting for redress after the use of Sodium Valproate.
Speaking after the meeting, Richard said:
"It was great to meet with Warren from my constituency, along with campaigners Janet and Emma in Parliament, to discuss redress for the victims of Sodium Valproate who include Warren’s family.
Warren was one of my first constituency surgery appointments after I was elected in July and, since then, I’ve asked Parliamentary Questions on the issue and have now met the national campaign team with him in Parliament.
The reason behind this is that there has been a campaign for justice for those harmed by the epilepsy drug Sodium Valproate since 2012, with over 2,000 people seeking recognition of the damages caused by valproate in pregnancy. This is an important campaign and the Patient Safety Commissioner is right to call for the government to respond in full to the Hughes report as soon as possible and I’ll continue to join them in this call for action.
Don’t forget, if you've tried every avenue, like Warren had on behalf of his family, then you can always reach out to your local MP. My team and I are there for you on www.richardholden.org.uk/contact."
