Local MP, Richard Holden is today opening nominations for the "Pub or Club of the Year" in North West Durham. Our area is blessed to have a vast number of excellent pubs and clubs, which are focal point for people from across our towns and villages to meet and socialise.
Richard is a great lover of pubs and knows how difficult the last two years have been for them since the global coronavirus pandemic began. In Parliament, he has led a successful campaign to persuade The Chancellor to introduce a variable beer duty that would ensure taxes on pints of beer are cut.
Now Richard is launching a new annual competition to recognise the best of our local pubs or clubs. He would be grateful if you could let him know which pub or club is your favourite and deserves recognition.
