Richard Holden MP attends Remembrance Sunday in his constituency.
"Nothing makes me prouder to be your MP than the way the people in the towns and villages of North West Durham approach Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday. Each of our towns and villages is unique but there is a real unity in remembrance and in honouring the freedom that men and women fought and died for.
"From Consett to Crook, Willington to Wearhead, and Burnhope to Burnopfield, thousands gathered to respect our brave war dead and those who served. It was especially lovely to see so many children at remembrance events today, brought along by mam and dad to honour those who serve.
"Different names may have been read out, but each location was still strikingly similar to one another; filled with poignant memories and deep respect.
"I managed to get to Consett, Willington and Fir Tree today and, separate to the main memorial services, managed to pop by Crook and Wolsingham too. It was very kind of several councillors to place a wreath for me at their memorial services too."
